Thank you, President Trump and thank you to the farmers of this country. Never never ever give up there’s always light that cuts through the darkness of the tunnel.
The crazy thing is, many so-called “farmers markets” are simply people re-selling commercially raised and purchased products, often at outrageous prices.
Anyone who has raised a garden or animals knows how much work is involved. I've done that part myself. Those actually doing the work have earned a reasonable profit for their efforts.
I simply refuse to pay high prices for the same produce that some person, claiming to be “a farmer,” actually bought at the local produce wholesaler. It is very difficult to know where these products come from because of how they are presented at these market stalls.
These markets need to police the source of the products being sold by their vendors. Unfortunately, this is not common practice. Sell commercially obtained produce, fine, but don't try to pass it off as coming from the two raised beds on your porch or the couple of rows of corn in your garden patch.
The President's move is a strong signal that things need to change. And those "Big 4" corporate masters are going to fight this tooth and nail.
I paid $500 for a whole lamb. It's hard to find anything but ground lamb here in cattle country. The meat is wonderful! And, since I am a spinner, she is going to hold onto a fleece for me when they shear in October.
"Your elected official should be protecting you from this sort of forced consumerism, and instead they are active participants in it. I did not cross reference the House and Senate Members of the Agriculture Committees who opposed President Trump’s order with campaign contributions from the major meat processors because I did not want to get depressed. But you know it. I know it. And the saddest part? They know it, too. They just don’t care." At what point will an American, ( does anybody remember what and American is?), understand this and stand up for himself?? Way to go DJT, and keep it up while you can!! E Pluribus Unum!!!
At what point? It's now, through posts like this. Ignorance is voluntary...until the truth of freedom is broadcast repeatedly and out loud. Thank you President Trump and Farmer Dan for telling the truth. We are not slaves of the state!
I watched two of my relatives have to close their small dairy farms because of the cost of meeting government regulations, which is the real cost of ever increasing food prices. It really had nothing to do with health. Probably, quite the opposite. Thank you President Trump, this is a move in the right direction. Now we can’t let the Democrats gain power and reverse everything good that is happening.

That is the problem in a nutshell. You have to cut out the middleman or two! They jack up the price, or you could call it greed!
