Powell should stay on as a governor. He fulfills a check/balance on Trump who would love to have interest rates near zero; regardless of economic impact; so he can make big bucks on his family's bond holdings.
Sure Trump is in it just to add to his own wealth , But lower rates on mortgages and business loans will give a boost to the overall economy or is TDS killed your reasonings for good ?

My thinking is to follow the historic patterns. Interest rates get cut to stimulate a weakening economy. They get raised to cool off an overheating economy with higher levels of inflation. Trump and his supporters claim that the economy is great (despite affordability issues, continuing news of layoffs, especially in tech).
So, if things are great as he says, there is no need now to cut interest rates. Also, with inflation trending upwards due to Trump & Bibi's war, the case for raising rates may now be stronger than the case for lowering rates.
Warsh will be no better, maybe worse. Where did the Federal Reserve get the Fraudulent $2.5B for renovations? Trump is the worst at picks hires and nominations. He has like a .250 batting average. The Federal Reverse needs to be eliminated and replaced with an AI Induced Level Playing Field 3 man department focused on the Average Consumer as the template folded within the US Treasury which also needs to be cut in half.
