An increasingly visible societal problem has emerged: many computer users experience newer smartphone software updates NOT to be as straightforward improvements, but as recurrent disruptions to previously acquired competence. Digital phone functions are often reprogramed , relocated, renamed, visually reinterpreted, or embedded within altered navigational structures. Interface language often becomes more abstract, less clear, less literal, and & less transparent, and not more simple. As a result, skills that were once learned and internalized must be repeatedly reconstructed…. ….more clicks required ……… This is Wasting people’s time simply because Tech is Popular ( in Vogue) at present & it’s downsides are indeed exposing themselves …. even as true a.i. creeps closer.
This issue is often framed too narrowly as an age-related problem, as though difficulty with digital change were primarily a feature of older adulthood. Such an interpretation is inadequate. The more accurate concern is that a condition of continual interface instability imposes cognitive demands across all age groups. Even intelligent, educated, and technologically experienced young users may find that maintaining a high level of digital fluency now requires constant reprograming, reformatting, reorientation and relearning. The problem is not necessarily a decline in users’ capacities, but an escalation in the burden placed upon user citizens by systems (companies) that do not preserve continuity., bur do require unrecognized waste of time due to the in Vogue digital popularization driven towards youth marketing
