These states are going to change blue in the future. Republicans aren’t going to be the majority anymore.

Old people/retirees leave blue cities to live like kings & queens in red states. Be very clear about that. My pension would allow me to buy 6 acres in any red state!

Wow, the part about New York and New Jersey hemorrhaging $690 billion in income really highlighted the scale of these financial shifts. It made me wonder if the "soaring taxes and urban decay" explanation, while certainly a factor, fully captures the whole picture of why people are making such big decission, or if there are other quality of life considerations that aren't always framed in financial terms.

I still can’t believe the low percentage of voters who turned out for those elections. You could’ve prevented this from happening but didn’t vote? Moving anywhere is a real pain in the ass. Is going to vote worse than moving?

Gee what a non surprise. American fleeing communism who would have imagined that. But can Nu Yorkers be considered illegal invaders of Red States — or should those states close their borders ??! Quandry for Democrats to resolve ??

Yawn. Same stuff, different day. Same stuff, different month. Still the same blue state "whipping boys."

I live in Colorado, a blue state thanks in part to the ineptitude of the local GOP (ever hear of crooked Tina Peters?). Healthy economy. Year round resort state. Net migration in and out is roughly equal. Taxpayers Bill of Rights (TABOR) in the state constitution meaning that the voters have to approve tax increases or decreases. Haven't heard of any red state having a TABOR in place.
