It's Tax Day and if you're not pissed off you are missing the point

The American taxpayer’s faith in government is at an all-time low, and who can blame them?

April 15, 2025. Tax Day. The one day of the year when the federal government reminds every working American who’s really in charge. You bust your tail all year—pouring concrete, writing code, driving trucks, starting businesses—and what’s your reward? A swift kick in the teeth from the IRS. They’ve already snatched 20%, 30%, sometimes 40% of your paycheck before you even see it. And for what? To bankroll foreign wars we didn’t vote for, to fund global DEI programs nobody asked for, to prop up a bloated Washington bureaucracy that sneers at the very people paying its bills. It’s absurd. It’s obscene. And it has to end.

Let’s start with the obvious: the American taxpayer is getting hosed. You’re not just paying for roads or schools—though wouldn’t it be nice if that’s all it was? No, you’re footing the bill for a government fixated on everything but you. Billions poured into conflicts half a world away, where the only clear winners are defense contractors and the politicians they cozy up to. Billions more shoveled into bizarre, elitist pet projects—DEI initiatives that lecture foreigners on pronouns while our own border leaks like a sieve. This isn’t governance; it’s a racket.

Plumbers in Ohio, nurses in Texas, small-business owners in Montana. They’re not ideologues. They just want to keep what they earn, provide for their families, maybe take a vacation without selling a kidney. Instead, they watch their money vanish into the black hole of Washington, D.C., where unelected bureaucrats dream up new ways to waste it. DEI programs in federal agencies? They’re not just a sideshow—they’re a multi-billion-dollar industry of consultants, trainings, and compliance officers who produce nothing but resentment. Entire departments have been hijacked by this nonsense, pushing left-wing agendas that most Americans reject. The White House and DOGE have exposed the jaw-dropping price tags for this and it should make you very upset.

Elon Musk, love him or hate him, isn’t one for half-measures. He’s promised to take a flamethrower to the federal government’s bloat, and by God, he’d better deliver. Same goes for President Trump, who’s back in the White House with a mandate to drain the swamp for real this time. DOGE’s mission is simple: slash the waste, fire the bad actors, and give Americans their money back. Not just lip service—actual tax cuts, funded by dismantling programs and departments that exist only to perpetuate themselves. The savings should either go back to your pocket or to things that actually matter: securing the border, fixing our crumbling infrastructure, bringing manufacturing back home. No more subsidizing the world’s problems while ours fester.

Because that’s the dirty little secret of our tax system: America’s workers are subsidizing everyone else. We spend billions protecting global trade routes—our Navy patrolling the seas so cargo ships can deliver cheap goods to Europe and Asia. And what do we get in return? But common sense has been AWOL in D.C. for decades.

The swamp fights back. Bureaucrats don’t go quietly—they’ve got pensions to protect, power to cling to. But the American people are done with excuses. They want results. They want a government that respects their labor, not one that picks their pockets to fund its own vanity. President Trump knows this. Musk knows this. The question is whether they can deliver before the entrenched interests regroup.

Tax Day shouldn’t feel like a mugging. It should be a reminder that we’re all in this together—citizens contributing to a government that serves us, not the other way around. Right now, that’s a fantasy. But it doesn’t have to be. Fire the bad actors. Slash the waste. Bring back fiscal sanity.
