It’s the parent’s responsibility not META. If the parents gave their 9 yr olds beer every day would we blame Bud Light?
They bought the kids tablets or smartphones and let them sit there all day using them. Take responsibility and stop crying like META made them do that.
Naw... this isn't that. Try to live a reasonable modern life without a smart phone today. Yes, don't give one to a 9 year old, but what about teenagers? What about young people in general whose frontal lobes don't fully develop until their mid to late 20's?
They have programmed addiction into these apps. They always knew that it crossed moral boundaries and caused human harm, yet they continued for the reasons of corporate profit maximization and corporate primacy.
Parents have much of the blame. There are many things harmful (alcohol, gambling, fast food products), but they require some self-discipline (and parental discipline). Lawsuits are just going to limit the freedoms of us all.

No on can ever seem to take responsibility for their actions! That's a real problem in this country. Don't blame META or Apple or anyone else for the failings of parents!! Period.
.....this is a very maturely written article - avenues of access to children & young adults is DEADLY IN HANDS OF EVIL - - ergo , parents , Do Your Job.....Corporate Retailers be prepared to lose a license as well as face Jail Time for the death / injury as a result of any INATTENTION on your behalf in dealing with your client's wellbeing - - after all , we can all Do Without Electronic Social Media if that's what it takes , can't we ? ? ........ .......blessings everyone
