If the government punishes businesses embracing new technology and creating efficiency, then America’s economy will no doubt fall behind China and other rivals...
Robot Tax is a great idea. Everyone needs to stop siding with either the right or left. It's a uniparty and its smoke and mirrors to divide us. I'm no Dem and sure haven't seen much good from the left but this one is very good. Ai taking jobs isn't good for anyone but large corporations. And it's not end all truth and accuracy. Garbage in, garbage out with Ai. It can be manipulated. Not good when it comes to replacing humans.
AI is garbage in garbage out automated. Basically it is replacing code writers. They will have to retraine themselves for new professions the same as Horsedrawn buggy makers had to as the Automobil came on scene.
And the government needs to stay out of this process. It pucks up everyting it gets involved in by turning it into politics.
Why don't these incompetent Democrats get behind reforming our education system and training the employees our Country will need going forward in technology, engineering, math, science and medicine?
NO, they want to grow government taxation and bureaucracy as a means of collecting and redistributing wealth instead of helping create and grow our economy!
The current crop of Democrats in Congress and in Blue State governments are truly ignorant, stubborn and deeply narcissistic.
I don’t think it was the Woodstock generation that drove this change and f’d up our education system. Many of that era served in Nam and those that came back worked, had families and became solid citizens. It (IMO) is the 1985 -1995 band of helicoptered and priviledge sons and daughters of wealthy democrats primarily from the NE, upper MW and West Coast that have driven this corrupted educational system and produced millions of priviledged do nothings.
How about we tax auto manufacturers to revive the blacksmiths, saddle makers, and buggy whip makers? New technology will be introduced and we will move on from there. If we give government the go ahead to tax AI that tax will never go away. We had to wait about a century to get rid of the tax on long distance phone calls that was enacted to pay for the Spanish-American war. The government doesn’t create wealth except for government employees. No matter how much they tax us they spend more than they take in. It’s a spending problem not a lack of taxation.
The Demonocrats want to tax the robots, not for revenge of lost American jobs (they don’t care about that), but the fact that they see another source for their tax money grab. If the robots are more efficient, they are more productive, therefore making more money for the owners. I have said many times before that, Demonocrats believe if there is ANY money out there, IT SHOULD BE THEIRS ! They love to skim our tax money; they can’t get enough.
So if you are a small business that can barely afford employees especially in cities where the Democrats have made wages so high for laborers, now you will be taxed even more if you use AI? Democrats pretending to be anything other than destructive is an absolute laugh.
I can help but see the side of democrats on this. On one side - yes the economy could slow down or even plumet. More so if the rumors of the 'ai bubble' are true. However on the other hand unlike in China, where the goverment will (very horribly, nontheless effectivly) take care of its citizens to always have jobs no matter ai ‐ even if the jobs are horrible and agints free will (China style), the US is not capable of doing that. If ai replaces so many human jobs, the current job market is already in a bad shape, the economy is practicly guranteed to fail eather way. It truly is a dilemma in this one.
Do you have an understanding of what jobs and conditions are for Chinese workers?
It's not a dilemma but an opportunity for America to transform it's education system to benefit from the sea change that technology, AI and Science is ushering in!
Yes I am very well aware of the conditions in china that is why I wrote it. You most certiantly don't want to be like China ever and glamorising it is insane. Ch8na will do whatever it takes to the individual to make sure the keep moving as a whole - that's kinda the point of socialism. That being said I very much realise that to NOT indulge this tax is the better option, but people will lose thier jobs and thats a fact. It will take a little before they get new jobs and it will show. That is all I'm saying.
OK, fair enough! Yes it takes time to turn a large ship like the U.S. Education system but failing to do so will relegate us over time to mediocrity in the digital space age that is unfolding.
I would like to see robots in place of democrats in the house and senate and that will make the rest of us very happy

Enough is enough.
Says the man who is firmly on the left.
I wonder if there will be trans and gay robots LOL.

The last thing we want is democrats reforming our education system.
They are the ones who got us here.
The Woodstock, potsmoking, free love and commune promoting reddiper babies who have been teaching the last two generation in our schools.

it's a training problem. people need training for the newer jobs. schools are not doing their job. and some people don't like change.
