Conservatives furious at “Sick Liar” Kimmel after his apology
Jimmy Kimmel teared up on his ABC late-night show, defending a controversial monologue joke about the Kirk assassination as unintended mockery.
Monologue sparked backlash: Kimmel’s July segment on Charlie Kirk shooting drew swift criticism for insensitivity, prompting him to address it amid ongoing media scrutiny.
“We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it.”
No intent to belittle: Kimmel clarified the bit aimed to highlight political absurdity, not endorse violence, urging viewers to separate humor from real tragedy.
Kimmel invokes Jesus in apology to Kirk’s widow: In part of his statement, aimed as a message to Erika Kirk, Kimmel referenced the need to forgive.
“On Sunday, Erika Kirk forgave the man who shot her husband. She forgave him. That is an example we should follow. If you believe in the teachings of Jesus, as I do, there it was.
That’s it. A selfless act of grace, forgiveness from a grieving widow. ”
Apology falls flat with Conservatives: Conservatives were not impressed with Kimmel’s apology, taking to X to express their displeasure

NC Gov under pressure to sign “Iryna"‘s Law” after veto proof vote
In an overwhelming rebuke to “catch-and-release” policies, the North Carolina House overwhelmingly passed “Iryna’s Law” on Tuesday, sending tough-on-crime reforms to Gov. Josh Stein just one month after a Ukrainian refugee’s brutal stabbing death on a Charlotte train by a repeat offender.
Veto Proof: The bill passed 81-31 with veto-proof support putting Stein in a bind after Democrats in both the House and the Senate tried to stall the bill.
Social Media Amps up The Pressure: Both citizens and Lawmakers have taken to X to demand that Gov Stein sign the bill in the wake of the horrific killing that shocked the nation.
The Progressive experiment has become an exercise in cruelty
·In the dim glow of a Charlotte light rail car on August 22nd 2025, Iryna Zarutska, a 23-year-old Ukrainian refugee who had fled war for a chance at American safety, sat listening to music through her headphones.
Bill Targets Violent Repeat Offenders: HB 307 ends cashless bail for serious crimes, mandates GPS monitoring or house arrest for second-time violent felons, curtails judicial discretion to prevent releases like suspect Decarlos Brown’s, require evaluations and potential involuntary commitments for defendants showing crisis signs or recent commitments, (addressing Brown’s untreated issues amid over a dozen prior arrests,)caps death penalty appeals at two years for new cases, fast-track older ones within one year, and add aggravating factors for public transit victims, aiming to streamline justice without new execution methods.

I never watched him before and I will continue to not be one of the the 100,000 that tune in every night. His being on the air or off of the air means nothing to me. It was disturbing to hear a simple minded newscaster say that people have to understand that Kimmel's is a "comedy show". So I guess the take away is that she thought that what Kimmel said about Charlie KIrk was somehow funny. Someone else said that Charlie KIrk's murder showed us the 2 different USA's. The Christian USA and the anti-Christian USA. Jesus said "But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven." - Matthew 10:33
With all of the earthquakes, volcanoes coming to life, wildfires and floods. Some people just might want to start getting right with the Lord. Time seems to be running out.
Not sincere. He should have just said “I’m sorry, I was wrong on how I approached the topic.” That’s all and go on to do his act.
